All our activities are run by experienced and fully qualified instructors. Safety is adhered to at all times, and appropriate safety equipment supplied for each activity.
ARCHERY
All these sessions are led by a qualified Archery Instructor of the Grand National Archery Society.
CANOEING AND KAYAKING
At a minimum, all these sessions are led by a British Canoe Union Level 2 or Level 3 Coach.
CAVING
At a minimum, all these sessions are led by a Local Cave Leader or Caving Instructor (National Caving Association).
MOUNTAIN BIKING
At a minimum, all these sessions are led by a holder of the Mountain Bike Leaders Award (English Schools Cycling Association) or equivalent.
ORIENTEERING
At a minimum, all these sessions are led by an Instructor with a British Orienteering Federation Award.
ROCK CLIMBING AND ABSEILING
At a minimum, all these sessions are led by an Instructor with a Single Pitch Supervisor Award.
YOUTH GROUPS
We operate a maximum group size of eight young people plus a leader per instructor for all our adventurous activities. The ratio for our team building activities, problem solving and raft building is sixteen young people plus two leaders per instructor. A leader or responsible adult (18 years or over) must accompany each group.
We are also inspected annually by the Divisional Environmental Health Officer, Forest of Dean District Council, so complying with written documentation required for: 'Health and Safety at Work Act 1974' and 'Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1982'.
Forest Adventure Ltd is registered with The Adventure Activities Licensing
Authority to provide Water Sports, Climbing, Caving, Mine Exploration and Mountaineering. Our registration number is L3061/R0187. This ensures that we have in place the necessary Risk Assesments and recommended good practice procedures in compliance with the National Governing Bodies and Licensing Authority.
All our activities are insured through Perkins Slade Ltd (five million pounds public liability). We advise all participants to take out their own personal accident insurance.
